In each of the last two years, the Bulldog football program has produced two of the most decorated students on the Fresno State campus. In 2006, lineman Kevin Cooper was awarded the President's Medal as the top graduating student at Fresno State. Last spring, Bulldog kicker Clint Stitser was a finalist for the President's Medal after winning the Dean's Medal for the Craig School of Business as its top graduate. Both young men graduated with 4.0 GPAs. Under Pat Hill, Fresno State's football program has been a model of consistency.

Eric McAfee received his bachelor’s degree in 1986 from California State University, Fresno. Graduating as a Dean’s Medallist, Eric lectures as the 2001 Craig School Entrepreneur in Residence at Fresno State.
An entrepreneur and venture capitalist, he co-founded Cagan McAfee Capital Partners, which is a Silicon Valley private equity firm based in Cupertino, California.
In 2000, Eric was selected to serve as a member of George W. Bush Information Technology National Advisory Board. A 1985 Congressional Award winner for his volunteer work, he has served since 1993 as a member of the Board of Directors of the California Manufacturers & Technology Association, one of the oldest and most influential business organizations in California with 500 members.
Eric serves as a Senior Advisor to Security Technology Ventures, and serves or has served on the Boards of Directors of MindArrow Systems (rich media CRM software); mvion (wireless software); Netstream(MPLS network CLEC); CustomerLink Systems( emarketing solutions); Global Digital (Internet software for newspapers); iCommerce (ecommerce software); Quikview (employment systems); DataZone (mobile network storage); Intraop Medical (mobile device for cancer treatment); and DAC Intl (precision lathes for optical lenses).

FORMER OFFICERS AND A DIRECTOR
On July 24, the Commission filed a complaint in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern District of Texas against Blast Energy
Services, Inc. f/k/a Verdisys, Inc., alleging that Verdisys and former
CEO Daniel W. Williams violated the antifraud provisions of the
Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by making various misleading
disclosures regarding the capabilities of Verdisys' lateral drilling
technology, the status and success of its drilling operations, and its
revenues, and that former Verdisys CFO Andrew G. Wilson aided and
abetted the violations. Also on July 28, 2006, the Commission entered
a cease-and-desist order against former Verdisys director Eric A.
McAfee, finding that he caused Verdisys to make misleading disclosures
regarding its expenses and revenues. The Commission also commenced a
civil money penalty action against McAfee in U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of Texas.

In addition to the student awards, faculty won a number of university and school awards this year. At the university level, Craig School faculty won two of the five awards granted across the eight colleges and schools of the university. Honored are Dr. Ida Jones for Technology in Education and Dr. Tim Stearns for Service to the Craig School and to Fresno State. In the Craig School, four faculty won awards. There are Dr. Lynn Forsythe for Service, Dr. Denise Patterson for Service, Mr. Tim Baker for Teaching, and Dr. Benjamin Tai for Research.
Earlier in the year, Mrs. Debbie Koehler was honored as Craig School Outstanding Staff member.
From the community, Mr. Gordie Webster, publisher of the Fresno Business Journal was honored by the Craig School chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society.
