Rep. Anthony Weiner’s stunning wife had a front-row seat to the mother of all sex scandals — she served in the Clinton White House during Monicagate.
And now, 34-year-old Huma Abedin has to deal with her hubby’s own public shame, as he tries to explain away his connection to a lewd Twitter picture.
Weiner said yesterday his beautiful spouse — a longtime aide to now-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton — doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about.
“She’s seen an awful lot,” Weiner told MSNBC.
“But I won’t mind telling you that even for someone that went through the Clinton years, this has been a befuddling experience.”
As Weiner battles the building scandal each day, Abedin has been going to work as one of Clinton’s most trusted aides.
She’s known as Clinton’s “body woman,” Washington-ese for the secretary’s right-hand woman, following America’s top diplomat at every step of every trip.
A State Department source said Abedin — who tied the knot with Weiner in July — has shown incredible grace under fire, and not displayed any signs of embarrassment or anger over her husband’s public roasting.
“She has the benefit of seeing [the Clinton administration],” the State insider said. “She knows how absurd things can get.”
And there was never any thought of reassigning Abedin, even temporarily, from her high-profile gig.
“She has been doing her job like nothing [has happened],” the State insider said. “It [Weiner’s public struggle] has nothing to do with her job. This is her personal life.”
This is the first serious bump in the road for Abedin, and her meteoric rise in Washington.
She was named one of Time magazine’s “40 under 40” rising stars of American politics last fall.
Weiner’s wife counts Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), designer Oscar de la Renta and Jordan’s Queen Noor as her admirers.
Weiner once joked that his wife, who got her start as an intern for then-First Lady Clinton in 1996, is almost too good to be true.

French reaction to the rape charges against International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn range from charges of an anti-French plot to letting the justice system run its course.
Former Socialist culture minister Jack Lang is strongly defending Strauss-Kahn against rape charges, claiming the whole matter is a "lynching."
"He is a brave man on whom a contemptuous fate has been inflicted," Lang says, according to Britain's Sky News. "It is not unthinkable that certain judicial officials, the prosecutor in particular or the judge, is driven by a desire to take down a Frenchman, a Frenchman who is moreover well known."
Likewise, former justice minister Robert Badinter claims Strauss-Kahn had been "put to death by the media," accusing police of a "provocative exhibition," Sky News reports.
But Martine Aubry, the first secretary of the Socialist Party, is counseling a wait-and-see attitude until the facts are clear and Strauss-Kahn has given his version of events.
"We have only heard the words of a prosecutor, whose job is to bring charges," she says.
The French newspaper Liberation, normally viewed as sympathetic to the left, says in an editorial Monday that Strauss-Kahn "knew that he was his own worst enemy."
But some political figures zeroed in on the U.S. justice system, particularly the infamous "perp walk" in which a suspect in handcuffs is photographed by the media.
The New York Times reports that former French justice minister Elisabeth Guigou, a Socialist party MP who strongly supported France's anti-perp-walk law, says she found the photos of a handcuffed Strauss-Kahn indicative of "a brutality, a violence, of an incredible cruelty, and I'm happy that we don't have the same judiciary system."
Guigou tells France Info radio, The Times reports, that the U.S. system "is an accusatory system," while in France, "we have a system that takes perhaps a little more time but which is, despite everything, more protective of individual rights."

The court heard how he had abused and raped girls between 1954 and 1998.
One victim, who was 13 when the abuse happened, told the jury: " I certainly hadn't heard of the word paedophile. It made me feel ashamed in a way. He was in the police force.
"All those years ago we just didn't talk about things like that."

An Avon and Somerset Police spokeswoman said following the verdict: "When this matter was brought to our attention in 2010, it was fully investigated by Bristol's dedicated team to tackle rape and sexual assault.
"This investigation revealed that Davis was a serving police officer at the time some of these offences were committed.
"This was the first time full details of his past had been revealed to police by the victims."
Davis, who retired from the Avon and Somerset force in 1976, was charged with 11 counts of indecent assault on a female; six charges of rape; and three of gross indecency with a female child.

Morocco’s focus on expanding the tourism industry is coming at a high social cost by making it a haven for child sex tourism. The tourism industry is one that benefits outsiders more than it benefits the people who live in Morocco, especially in providing jobs which require labor in the place of an education, or driving people to pursue illegal forms of labor, including under-age prostitution, selling drugs, etc. It comes as no surprise that Morocco is the top provider of drugs to Europe, making drug trafficking a major source of revenue for Moroccans, especially in the North and the Rif region…but that’s another issue.

Bryan Davis, 87, of Gilslake Avenue, Brentry, Bristol, appeared before Bristol Crown Court accused of sexual assault charges, including six of rape.Avon and Somerset Police said the verdict was a "reflection of the seriousness of the crimes he committed from the 1950s to the late 1990s".
