Hello.

A female singer, Ladygaga was invited to an event, “A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation”
At the event she sang "Happy Birthday" among other songs to the former president like Marilyn Monroe did to JFK in the past.

she said, "I always wanted a Marilyn moment -- but didn't want it to involve pills and pearls."

If I'm not wrong, the "Marilyn moment" is a moment when you sing "Happy Birthday" for a president, but I don't understand what "didn't want it to involve pills and pearls" mean.

Would you tell me what she meant?
