Excerept:
The girl, whose name was not reported because she is a minor, told the network, "I'm doing okay."
Sources close to the girl told Fox she followed Weiner on Twitter after seeing him speak during a school trip to Washington in April. Weiner subsequently followed her and direct-messaged the girl beginning on April 13. It's unclear what the message was regarding.
Weiner's office told the New York Times he had exchanged five messages with the girl. A member of the girl's family told the Times the messages were "harmless" but expressed concern that Weiner had exchanged private messages with a teenager.

Mark Foley says Weiner would be better off resigning

By Holly Bailey

Former Rep. Mark Foley, who left Congress at the height of his own online sex scandal, suggested Thursday that Anthony Weiner might be best served by leaving the House, but stopped short of implicitly calling for his resignation.
"In my heart, you cannot fix that from inside that building. You cannot fix your problem, whatever it is that is troubling him," Foley told Fox News's Sean Hannity. "He's not going to get better going back into that building and hope people give him a pass."
It was Foley's first national interview since he resigned from Congress in 2006 after it was revealed he sent sexually explicit emails to teenage congressional pages. The former Florida lawmaker, who says he's haunted by his own missteps, expressed empathy for Weiner and said he understands the guilt and remorse he's feeling.
But Foley stopped short of calling on Weiner to resign.
"It's impossible for me to analyze him," Foley added. "All I know is what I did when I looked in the mirror when I was confronted with the charges … You know, I didn't sit there and try and run the clock out.  I said, this was wrong, and I resigned."

Weiner said Thursday he will not leave office—and while there have been growing calls for resignation from both Democrats and Republicans, there's not been similar pressure from Weiner's constituents.
A new Marist Poll released Thursday night found that 56 percent of NYC voters don't want Weiner to resign, while 33 percent do and 12 percent are unsure.

Nope! My memory is still intact. I remember that Foley's own Chief of Staff Kirk Fordham, revealed that Congressman Rodney Alexander, Republican from Louisiana, had reported to Dennis Hastert, Republican and House Majority Leader at the time, that Foley had made sexual advances by e-mail to a male Congressional Page Alexander had sponsored. According to Fordham, Rodney Alexander informed Hastert that something had to be done to stop Foley 3 years before the Foley scandal broke and Hastert refused to take action against Foley. In fact, Hastert kept the lid on Foley's sexual escapades for a full 3 years.

I want Weiner to resign. His behavior is inexcusable. But I can not stand the hypocrisy of Foley claiming he didn't "..try to run the clock out." That's a blatant lie. The historical record proves otherwise. And FOX NEWS should have done their job, as news journalist, and told Foley to his face that he was a flat out liar when he claimed that he resigned as soon as he realized what he had done was wrong.
