Excerpt:
Unemployment Insurance (UI) Integrity Fraud is empowered to conduct criminal investigations involving crimes affecting the UI Program of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE). Crimes investigated include UI claimant and employer fraud. Fraud directly affects employers and claimants when any kind of UI claim is paid based upon fraudulent information. For example, employers and workers in Colorado face loss of wages and jobs, lower profits, higher costs for goods and services, and higher tax rates. Prevention and detection are crucial to minimize the effects of fraud and protect the assets of the citizens of Colorado.
Criminal convictions in fraud cases often result in court ordered restitution to CDLE. Most of those convicted make regular payments through the district courts' registry offices.
Use the attached instructions to Report Fraud.
